How it all began...

Hello, and welcome!

Somehow you have happened upon my mousey adventure. My name is Dawn and I am the creative force behind this page. Thankfully I have been blessed with a pretty vivid imagination and a many crafty abilities to be able to bring this magical little world of mine to you.

From the time I was a little girl I have always loved mice. In fact my very favorite toy was a stuffed white mouse, named "Moufey"...don't ask, I have no idea why, I was little. I was also born into a family with extremely creative people, both my mother and grandmother were always sewing and crafting and my father and grandfather always building something. So, I guess I was destined to be a creative spirit.

Throughout my entire life I have always loved making things. Whether it was sewing, building, crocheting, doing embroidery, painting, creative writing, etc.etc. So, now I have found the perfect outlet to use all these talents in one place and to have the opportunity to teach myself new skills to add to the fun. I am always up for learning a new craft or crafty technique to add to my bag of tricks.

So, you ask...How did it all start? Several years ago I was diagnosed with a pretty debilitating auto immune disease which changed my life. To say that I was having a hard time coping with everything is a bit of an understatement. I needed to find something to fall in love with which would keep both my mind and hands busy so I wouldn't get overwhelmed with my reality. Then I discovered Maileg. Yes, a company that made very sweet and simplistic toys that were beyond enchanting. I began scrolling through Pinterest where I saw images of people who had taken these charming little mice and had made homes for them from everything from cardboard boxes to extravagant homes and I was hooked.

Fast forward several years later and I have now created several mouse houses from top to bottom with all the trimmings and have loved every step in the process. It's given me an opportunity to try new artistic endeavors, experiment with new materials, and forced me to think outside the box to solve miniature dilemmas along the way. All of which have been so much fun.

I also discovered a love for storytelling and making my little mice come to life by sharing their adventures with my followers. This has been the perfect solution to combining creativity with positive mental health during challenging times. Let's face it we live in a difficult world with so many obstacles. Finding something which brings you joy, and also joy to others can only be a good thing.

I decided to start this blog to share my mousey adventures as well as offer tips and tricks for creating your own mouse house. I hope to take you on a journey to creating your perfect mouse house if you choose or if you just prefer to visit and catch up on all my fun you are always welcome.
