A look around the new Mother/Baby room at the Cheddar Hollow Cottage Hospital
As my little mouse hospital nears completion, I thought I would take you on a tour one room at a time so you can see what I have done. The mother/baby room is complete and waiting for it's first mommy-to-be mouse to take advantage of this lovely space. Carmody, our new interior designer did a fantastic job of making this room soft and inviting for new moms and babies. Dr. Asiago and nurse Edam are over the moon with the results. Let's take a closer look around the room.
On this side of the room is the isolette, made from the Aizulhomey trolley and recycled plastic packaging. I made a tiny mattress from the softest flannel in white with tiny mint dots. Under the cart is a supply of matching receiving blankets and a few packages of disposable diapers, if the new moms are interested in using them. Next to the isolette is a small table for visitors to use however they would like. A place to set items from home or for daddy mouse to use while mommy mouse is in labor. Then of course there is a rocking chair, the perfect place for new mothers to rock their babes to sleep. I have also added a tiny crocheted blanket for snuggling under.
Beside the rocking chair is a sweet little side table, also from Aizulhomey for stashing little things in the drawers or for a place to set a cup and juice for staying hydrated. Above the side table is a "whiteboard" for keeping track of basic patient information. Plus I added a few charming decor items to match the Aussie theme I have going on in this room.
Finally, we reach the other side of the room where there is a cozy bed, I used the Maileg Teddy Jr. bed, waiting for expectant mothers. Soft cotton sheets, fluffy pillows and a warm and cozy comforter await. I also made one of the tables which are perfect for patients who are wishing to stay in bed and enjoy having a surface to put food, flowers, electronic devices, etc. on.
I really hope you have enjoyed this first peek at the new hospital. I cannot wait to show you more. I am expecting a few more items for the other rooms, so as they are completed I will share more with you. Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I have been creating.
