Fontina's Autumn Decorating has begun!
This morning Fontina was up bright and early and she made the decision that today is the day that she was going to start decorating for Autumn. This Summer has been a bit too much for the mice of Cheddar Hollow with scorching temps just like everyplace else. Even though it is still quite hot and humid outside she threw caution to the wind and lit a pumpkin spice candle, turned up the ac and starting getting her autumn decor out of the attic. Just for fun I decided to make a few new additions to add to her growing collection of decor items.
I got out some thin twine and my crochet hook and started making a basket. No pattern, just kind of winging it like I do a lot of things! It's always a mystery if or how it will turn out. Which in all honesty is kinda part of the fun. I do know some very basic crochet, but I am far from proficient at it.
After a bit of trial and error, I came up with this sweet little design. Far from perfect but I like it and that's all that counts really. I added a bit of mossy green ribbon to add a little something something and now it's time to style it.
I added a little snippet of vintage lace. Some faux greenery and a little pumpkin. Now I will say I am not loving these pumpkins. But no worries I have my daughter working on some better ones. She is fantastic with making items from clay so I asked her to set me up with some pumpkins. So, help is on the way!
A little overview of the room so far. I still have several tiny projects in mind, but it's a start! Next up, I think we need some pretty new pillows on the sofa...and I think I hear Fontina in her studio already. She is clearly on top of things. Stay tuned for more Autumn decorating....
