It's bathroom day!
I was so pleased with my results from yesterday I couldn't wait to get to work today on the next room in the mouse house. As you can see I am tackling the two most important rooms in Roquefort and Edam's new home first. I started by heading over to Pinterest and creating my Inspiration board and was ready to set to work. Because this is such a small room I was actually able to get it all done pretty quickly because I had almost everything I needed it was just a matter of putting it all into place.
I started by laying down all the wood flooring and getting that all into place. I am really loving the whitewashed wooden floors in this house because I think they give it a sweet cottage feel. Next up, deciding which wall color to go with. . . I am thinking a very soft blush pink!
Wallpaper is up and I have added the furniture pieces. Sink and tub are Maileg, toilet was a Ebay find and I made the little corner cabinet.
Next up some art work and a crocheted doily for a sweet rug to add texture and interest to the floor.
I also added a mirror over the sink now it's time for the real fun to begin...all the tiny bits and pieces.
A soap dish and toothbrush and of course more of Edam's pink cottage roses. A shelf over the tub with a scrubbing mitt and shower cap plus on top tiny real glass apothecary jars filled with tiny cotton balls and bath bombs and a Maileg towel draped over the side of the tub.
The corner cabinet is now filled with fluffy white towels and other toiletries. On top a brush, vintage vanity mirror and a little basket I created by crocheting very thin twine and added a shabby vintage ribbon bow. Finally, a tiny trash can for collecting rubbish.
Looking pretty good, but it's missing something.... Hmm, let me think!
Just the perfect final touch a bath caddy with candles, scrub brush, body pouf and a bar of soap. Now there really is only one thing missing!
A happy mouse soaking in her tub filled with bubbles and a glass of bubbly as well!
I hope you had fun watching this room come together. I am really enjoying sharing the process with all of you. Now, it may be a few days before I have all my ideas together for the next room I am going to attempt. I am not sure, but it will either be the dining room or the living room. I guess it will be a surprise for both of us depending on which one I decide to take on next. I am still waiting on some things to be delivered so a lot will depend on the USPS. Heaven help us!
Now let's let Edam enjoy a lovely soak in her new bathroom!
