Open House Today at the Cheddar Hollow Mousessori Preschool
Today is the Big Day Mr. Muenster has been dreaming of since he took the job as the teacher of the Cheddar Hollow Mousessori Preschool. Mr. Muenster has been teaching for many years, but when he heard about the new position opening up in Cheddar Hollow he knew it was the perfect place for him to settle down and call this charming little town home. Even though the renovations on the building in downtown were recently completed Mr. Muenster couldn't wait to get into his classroom and start setting up the space for the children. His goal was to create a peaceful homelike environment for the children to learn in and play. Let's take a look around the room before his guests begin to arrive.
On the left hand side of the room he has simple wooden shelves to display a a variety of educational toys and games for the children. These are just some of the toys he brought with him. There are more things coming that he ordered, they just haven't arrived yet. But should be here before school starts in a week or so. Keeping with the Mousessori tradition many of the items are in baskets and all of the toys are wood.
He also has a small table for two of the children to play at either working on something individually or cooperatively. Under the table he has added a soft and simple rug to add warmth and comfort to the space and to make is more cozy for floor play. If the children want to play with the train, blocks, or anything else they wish. He can easily move the table off to the side to create more play space.
As you can see there is a play kitchen for role playing. There is cookwear and pretend food on order but they have yet to arrive...any day he hopes. Currently, he has the wooden train set up for the open house knowing there will be lots of excited children he took a few moments to set it up so the children could start playing with it right away. There is also a foot powered trike for ride on fun. And you can see the sweet little cozy reading corner set up through the shelf, but let's get a better look at it..
On this side of the room is the cozy reading nook for little mice who would prefer a some quiet time. Books have also been ordered and should arrive any day. Finally, the art area with a basket of crayons, markers, paints and glue plus lots of paper the littlest mice will have lots of opportunity to show off their artistic abilities.
Mr. Muenster has thought of just about everything and we are so appreciative of all his hard work. The Mom's and Dad's of Cheddar Hollow are truly lucky to have found such a special teacher! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at the new school. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
