Roquefort & Edam's new home

As some of you who follow me on IG last year I hosted a mouse sized wedding for two of my mice, Roquefort and Edam. Up until now they have been living in rather cramped quarters above Roquefort's catering business in town but these two have been saving up and they have finally purchased their first home together. I found this beauty on Marketplace and instantly fell in love with the beautiful details and knew it would be the perfect place for these two little lovebirds to call home. Thankfully it was in mint condition and there were no awful stickers to remove or damage to be repaired so it's ready to go. However, after looking at it I decided that it would be much better if I made a few alterations to it to optimize their living space. So, with the help of my youngest son we took the whole thing apart and I removed one of the walls in the center section and sadly the decorative strip of trim along the bottom because it was just going to get in the way. so this is what it looks like now...

Much better! So our plan right now is to create a kitchen and dining room on the ground level. A bathroom and living area on the second floor. The master bedroom and a future nursery on the third floor. Then finally an in-law suite on the top floor for Roquefort's parents, Gruyere and Raclette to move into once the love birds have settled in. They are very excited to start their family and because they both are career mice they love the idea of grandma and grandpa mouse living with them in this big house and helping them raise their children.

Next up...choosing the right look and style for their new home.
