The bedroom

My vision board is complete and I have all my pieces ready to install. Of course there is always tweaking to be done but I have a plan. I think the thing that always winds up to be a bit disappointing is that I run out of room too quickly for all the things I want to do almost always never all fit. But I usually find a way to squeeze in all the elements that make the room look complete and more or less what I had hoped.

Here is the final result...yes, it's very pink and feminine but as I mentioned before Roquefort is extremely secure in his mousey manhood so he is completely cool with it. Edam is a very lucky mouse to have such an amazing husband. So let's take a look around the room.

On this side of the room is their dresser which was a fabulous Ebay find. I made a little shabby chic peg shelf to hang above to store special items including Edam's bridal bouquet under a tiny glass cloche. A few special items sit on top of the dresser and a laundry basket and straw hat are also adding character In the corner a Maileg lamp and to the left side of their bed is a adorable nightstand with a vintage fan and tiny basket.

I wanted to give you an overhead view of the bed so you could see all the tiny details in how I dressed the bed. I had so much fun with this one. so many layers colors and textures to create something quite lovely. I think I may do a post another time about how I like to dress a bed so you can get a better idea of how I went about this..that is if you are interested.

In the left hand corner is their armoire filled with clothes and an extra quilt if they get chilly and a tiny crocheted basket to keep odds and ends in.

I have added a small trunk at the end of their bed for storing extra linens and seasonal items that might need to be packed away. I also crocheted a tiny hanging basket which is attached to the end of their bed which holds more of Edam's favorite pink cottage roses.

Another view of their bedroom... and finally what the room looks like in the evening illuminated by the lamp.

Overall, I am very happy with how their room turned out. I hope they love it. Currently they are still away in Paris visiting Roquefort's cousin Remy, but they will be home after Christmas. The next room is going to be a surprise...in more ways than one. So, you will have to check back soon to find out what I am up to next!
