The Cheddar Hollow Cottage Hospital is now taking patients.
The Cheddar Hollow Cottage Hospital is officially open. Even in Cheddar Hollow they are have issues with receiving goods and we have all patiently been waiting for the medicine cabinet to arrive and it finally did. So, I couldn't wait to to show you what I have put together.
Dr. Asiago couldn't be more thrilled with how the hospital turned out. Thanks to Carmody's expertise in interior design the hospital has a warm and welcoming feeling.
Nurse Edam is also thrilled with the results and is anxious to get to work making the mice of Cheddar Hollow feel better when they are ill. So lets go on a little tour around the examination room.
On this side of the room there is a table with various medical equipment ie. crutches, oxygen tanks, sphygmomanometer...that's a mouth full! As well as things like cotton balls, bandages, tongue depressors, and a syringe. On the wall there is a mouse anatomy poster as well as a poster of the skeletal system of a mouse.
On the back wall there is more shelving to hold misc. cleaning items, more medical supplies, various medications and the hand washing station.
Here is an overview of the whole room and you can see they have a wheelchair, an examination table, the medicine cabinet, X-ray machine and a rolling trolley which holds more necessary medical supplies. Oh and you can also see up on top the microscope, first aid kit and a small medical bag.
Yes, this is the gorgeous medicine cabinet that was holding everything up. But as you can see it was worth the wait! I absolutely love that it lights up and I filled it with tiny glass bottles filled with tiny beads which are acting as "medicine".
A close up view of the medical trolley which holds various medical tools, specimen bottles and on the bottom are more of the disposable cloths used on the exam table which are replaced after each and every patient.
Upstairs is the patient room where they can accommodate two patients at a time. Which is next to the mother/baby room. As you can see the beds look extremely cozy. and the room is bright and cheerful. Not to mention nursing student, Ricotta is ready to make anyone who must stay as comfortable as possible!
I hope you have all enjoyed the tour of the new hospital. But before I say goodby, I want to share with you how I managed to create all this space for my hospital.
As you may or may not know. The original plan was to use the Hearth and Hand Cottage Dollhouse. Which I actually purchased and built, but in the end there just wasn't enough room to do what I wanted to do as the rooms were too small and there were some awkward spaces. So, as disappointed as I was, I let go of that idea and went to bed that night thinking about how I could possibly make this work. Then as it happens so many times great ideas come to me in my dreams. I thought about the possibility of clearing some space on my shelves in my craft/Maileg room to create a hospital within the shelves. Of course, after that I couldn't sleep and I hopped out of bed and went into my "playroom" to see if my idea might work. Indeed, with a bit of juggling I was able to clear a spot and relocate the items that were there and now that's where my mouse hospital resides. I have to say I am in love with this option. Not only because I am running a bit low on space in this room but because it doesn't get in the way and take up more space. As much as I LOVE re-doing dollhouses they do take up a ton of room. Plus, as charming as they are I often find that a lot of them just don't have ample space to do what I want to do. So, this is a fantastic option if you are looking for a a low profile and practical way to create fun and creative spaces for your mice as well as being able to use it for other things as well...like craft supplies, etc.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you soon!
