Tiny Flower Arranging Recipe

With the opening of Flowers by Feta, the new Cheddar Hollow florist, any day now, I thought it would be fun to add a really fun and easy new recipe for you to experiment with. These little floral arrangements can add a big splash of color to your mouse house decor and they are super fast and easy to make. So, let's get started.

Ingredients:

  1. a small bottle or tiny container to make your arrangement in - I used these little bottles I got from Hobby Lobby from Tim Holtz. But you can use whatever you like just make sure it has a large enough opening and is proportionate to your flowers and the mice.

  2. tiny beads - I use these as vase filler. They help keep your flowers in place and also hide the ugly wire stems.

  3. tiny flowers - okay so lets talk about that. You are probably wondering where on earth do I find flowers tiny enough for the mice? Well ladies, I've got that all figured out for you. The answer is "Mulberry Paper Flowers! You can find them on Amazon as well as on Etsy. Just do a search and you will be amazed by the variety. Just be careful!!! They do come in different sizes so you need to be mindful when filling up your cart. I would say it's great to have a variety of sizes as long as they are still within proportion to the mice. Of course, this is meant to be fun and whimsical so have fun with it.

  4. tiny greenery - finding tiny greenery can be a challenge but look around your house you may have something you could use. If you are like me you have ample faux greenery in your house and you may have some tiny boxwood or other small greenery you can snip a tiny piece off of. If not take a trip to Hobby Lobby, JoAnn or Michaels if you are in the US and look in the floral section for options. I also found these cute greenery picks at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section.

step #1. - fill your "vase" with your beads. I usually fill it about 80%.

step #2. - start by playing around with making a little bouquet in your fingers so you can get a feel for what you would like it to look like once you start putting it in the vase. Once you start adding things to the vase of course you can take them out and re-do it anyway you like it's just a bit easier if you get a general idea what direction you are going.

Have fun experimenting with it and try adding bit's of dried baby's breath to soften it if you like. As with all these projects there is no right or wrong. It's just what you personally like. You do you!!! These mouse houses are meant to be a fun a creative project where you can express yourself so have a blast!

Here are just a few different examples of tiny floral arrangements I have come up with during my mousey adventures. I can't wait to see what you come up with....
