Tiny Tour - Fontina Maus's Kitchen

Let's take a tiny tour around Fontina's Kitchen. Fontina absolutely loves to cook and making delicious and healthy meals for her family brings her so much joy. Her kitchen has all the modern appliances and tools she needs to create anything she wants. Let's take a look around.

Camembert loves espresso so they have set up a coffee station just for him so that he can brew throughout the day. He loves his vintage coffee grinder and his very modern and sleek espresso machine. Oops, someone left the water running! Fontina has a big, beautiful farmhouse sink where she and Cam share the responsibility of cleaning up. I will say Fontina is a bit old fashioned when it comes to certain things. She opted to not have a dishwasher because she was always dissatisfied with the results, so they do all their washing up by hand to ensure it's done properly. Notice her little dish drainer next to the sink.

In the corner she has open shelving where she stores some items which she uses frequently so they are easy to reach. Mixing bowls, measuring cups, her recipe box filled with treasured favorites, a jar of honey from their community hives, spices, their waffle maker, and on the top shelf is where she stores some of the items she has canned for use throughout the year.

As you can see she has ample work space with lots of counter and the kitchen island that Camembert built for her. Although her back counter is rather full with her crock of spoons, spatulas, whisks and ladles. Her beloved mixer, canister set, bread box, toaster, another bread box which is currently empty but where she usually keeps freshly baked muffins, croissants, and rolls but it appears she needs to do some baking soon because it's empty again. She also has a basket on top where she stores her fresh eggs from their chickens. and of course we can't forget the blender. Under her counters, she has a lot more storage where she keeps additional bake ware, mixing bowls, baking sheets, etc. Fontina stores most of her pots and pans under her island including her colander and cast iron griddle. Above the island she had Cam install a vintage ladder where she could hang fresh herbs from the garden to dry so she could use them is her cooking when ever she needs them. She also has another open shelf where they keep cups, plates and mugs long with a few serving baskets.

The Maus family loves fresh produce so they have a little trolley in their kitchen where they store a lot of the items they get from the community garden. Hmmm, I am thinking some of those veggies might make a fantastic quiche with some aged cheese...I may have to make that suggestion to Fontina.

Over in the corner is their cooler and stove/oven. Above the cooler is where Fontina keeps her collection of favorite cook books and you can also see her cutting boards and the kettle. Finally Emmental's high chair where she often sits and watches while Fontina cooks.

I really hope you have enjoyed this tiny tour around Fontina's Kitchen. I will be sharing more tiny tours in the future of more of the rooms in my mouse houses. There is so much more to see and explore. Here is a short video for you as well.
