Tiny Tour - The Nursery
With Emmental moving out of the nursery, I thought it would be the perfect time to share the room she has been in since she was born. This is the nursery in the Maus Haus. I absolutely adore this room and I must admit it's one of my favorites in their home. It's soft and pretty without being too girly. Let's take a closer look around the room.
On this side of the room is the crib. I used the Maileg cot but remade all the bedding to better suit my taste and the feeling I wanted in this room. The crib is outfitted with vintage linens and tiny crocheted blankets. On the wall I opted to just do something sweet and simple with empty frames and wall art to compliment the space. Once again so simple. On the floor you can see the chenille rug that I created. and at the foot of the crib a fabric covered box that is trimmed with more vintage lace and sitting on top a handmade ducky pull toy I made from fimo clay, a tiny piece of paint stick ( my favorite ) button wheels and a pull string.
On the back wall it the sweet little dresser with actual working drawers. This was a vintage treasure found on line and I love the charm it adds to the room. Even the mirror has a patina on it which I adore. On top of the dresser is a tiny basket I crocheted and then filled with more handmade Fimo clay baby accessories. Powders, creams, wipes and of course some tiny flannel diapers. You can also see the tiny silver paci on a pretty pink ribbon.
Finally on this side of the room is the charming rocking chair which is a cherished piece because it comes with a sweet story. A fellow mouse lover had it in her mouse house nursery but now it has a forever home in my mouse house. The blanket over the back was a "baby gift" from a friend in England. The little bookshelf yet another of my paint stick creations which holds some decorative pieces as well as a few toys and necessities. This side of the room also has some handmade artwork and some sweet buttons on the wall.
The light fixture is one of my creations using bits and pieces of ribbons, trims and laces as well as some mulberry paper roses...oh, and it actually works and casts such a soft and lovely glow in this room in the evening. I hope you have enjoyed looking around the Maus family's nursery. Now that Emmental has moved into her big girl room there is room for a new baby in the nursery...only time will tell! Stay tuned for Emmental's new room tour coming very soon!
